  • To the warrior religions (Christians and Muslims), atheism is simply lacking the belief in god. That is it. The morality of a religious person is so perverted that they believe all ethical stances will be provided them, by their faith; all they need to do is believe. The act of believing itself is bastardized. Once a person accepts that ideas that don't have to be tethered in any way to reality but are still true, they are open to accept all manner of absurdity. I used to work in a prison. Men would come in as Christians and leave a Muslims. The doctrine was more empowering. So to enjoy the benefits of membership, you must believe in these new myths... well, facts have no bearing and belief is king so I am ready to accept my new beliefs. Belief is not a value. Also the philosophy of sin creates underdeveloped morals. A sin is anything that displeases god, so the things you may do in this life can only please or displease god, but lucky for you, god love groveling, so if you offend him, just say you are sorry, and really, really mean it... your only obligation is between you and god. So lying is no longer that destructive element in a relationship and a hindrance to absolute honesty with oneself, it is a sin. The intrinsic value of ethical behavior Is drowned out by the philosophy of sin, and how one behaves does not have the same impact that it would if one were to take seriously their connection to all humanity, but god is between me and thee, and I am but an object on god's proving ground to test the worth of his followers. And once you throw hell into the mix what few morals are gleaned from faith, are given the permission to be discarded. God has a morality free zone. GOD HAS A MORALITY FREE ZONE. Love your neighbor, be kind bla, blab la, but there is a point when god has no duty to be loving to you, and the follows who subscribe to that philosophy, are given to cruelty with reckless abandon. In that moral no man's land you are free to behave any base way you want to the future embers of hell. Believers know how god will treat his enemies, and many aspire to be no better.Atheism does not have prepared morals for the atheist. Again, not believing in god is the only prerequisite for that ridiculous title. There should be no word for not believing in the absurd, but religion is so popular; those who don't join are singled out and given a name because of it. By the way, calling atheism a religion is admitting that religion is a bit of an insult. "Don't think that you are some intelligent, free thinker... you believe in bullshit just like me"! Religion is not the mud in which I swim, and to call atheism a religion is your brain giving you a hint that it is dumb to assimilate into a religion, but that message just gets twisted and the negativity associated with the concept of religion is then applied to atheism. Every person is responsible for what their existence will mean. Religion has enjoyed and does still enjoy societies blessing.
