  • RFK, Jr. spoke to an audience at the University of Charleston, WV in 2002. He explained how the organization Riverkeeper, for whom he is chief prosecuting attorney suing corporate polluters and despoilers of the land, came into being. He talks about how West Virginia is a victim of the coal industry and likens the damage done there to what was done in upstate New York by GE and other corporations who dumped their toxic waste into the Hudson river and how environmental action reversed that tragedy and stopped the polluting. He also talks about how the Magna Carta is the basis for our Bill of Rights, and how the air and land and water are God-given gifts to be enjoyed by all people.
