- Metal Mario 64 Teaser Video + Glitches! Time 2008-05-29 18:42
- I've just completed a MAJOR project! A coder named Rice has developed a plugin for Project 64 1.6 that allows you to insert graphics from a texture pack into an N64 game! Have taken advantage of this plugin, I have created a texture pack with a metal theme to it in high resolution! If you use Project 64 1.6, below I will include a short tutorial on how to install and use the plugin...---------------------------------------1)Download the plugin DLL and my texture pack. (if you want =P)Plugin: http://www.mediafire.com/?7i9czmh9zueMM64: http://www.mediafire.com/?bsst3nbliza2) Open up the root folder of Project 64. You can get to it by going to My Computer, C drive, Program Files, and Project64 1.6.3)Open the "Plugin" folder in the PJ64 root folder.4)Copy Rice's plugin (1st download I listed) into the "Plugin" folder. Do not rename it.5)While in the Plugin folder, create a new folder and name it "hires_texture" exactly without the quotes.6)Open up Project 64, click on options, then settings in the top menu bar.7)For video plugin (1st drop-down bar), select "Rice's Video Plugin" 6.1.1 beta 10" and click ok.8)Go back to options and click "Configure Graphics Plugin".9)In the new window click on the "Texture Filters" tab.10)Tick "Load hi-res textures if available" at the bottom and click ok.11)Close out of PJ64 for now and copy the folder "SUPER MARIO 64" from my texture pack .zip download.12)Go back to the root folder, Plugin, then the hires_texture folder. Paste SUPER MARIO 64 in the hires_texture folder.13)Re-open Project 64, open Super Mario 64, wait for the textures to load, then BLAM! You're ready to check out Metal Mario 64!!If for any reason I should make another texture pack, in hires_texture create a new folder and name it "Metal Mario 64 backup". After you've downloaded my new texture pack I might make in the future, select all the files in SUPER MARIO 64, and cut and paste them into the backup folder you made, then copy all the files from SUPER MARIO 64 of my new .zip file and paste them back in. This way you can switch between which texture pack you want to use. Remember, any texture pack in the SUPER MARIO 64 folder will load into Project 64!---------------------------------------I also must mention that this is my LAST Super Mario 64 video. I've milked this game bone dry, and have officially ran out of ideas for new videos. Don't worry, I'll keep making lots of videos on a new game! You'll find out which game it is later on. ;)Oh yeah, and sorry for the choppy frame rates. The glitches you saw just came outta nowhere, and I had my PJ64 window larger than usual, and I was afraid I would cancel the glitches out by making it smaller, so I was really pushing it CPU-wise.Also, I couldn't make everything in some levels metallic because some textures wouldn't dump from the rom.---------------------------------------- ----------*Bmglib.dll can be found here:http://www.mediafire.com/?6jztdgzxjg2Copy it and paste it into the root folder of PJ64, not Plugin. Sorry for the confusion earlier...---------------------------------------- ---Text issues... sorry I didn't include this sooner, and I know it's in the second comment. Go here for a complete text file of the dialogue for this video. Make sure you sync the captions with the blurry orange stuff in the video!http://www.mediafire.com/?3ne9nzxwhmm
