  • January 7, 1999, almost 3 years before the terrorist attacks of September 11th, Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani warned the US. State Department of threats to National Security due to impending attacks from extremists such as Osama Bin Laden and Hammas and was labeled as an alarmist and IGNORED! Extremist elements, such as the Salafi movement labeled him a munafiq (hypocrite against Islam) and a liar, and even sent him death threats! The Saudi Wahhabi influenced/funded organizations in North America claimed that his statements were false and openly condemned him for this warning. Those who condemned him include 80% of all the mosques and organizations across US and Canada such as the American Muslim Political Coordination Council (AMPCC) [American Muslim Alliance (AMA), American Muslim Council (AMC), Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) & Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)] Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and several chapters of the Muslim Students Association of USA & Canada (MSA). And to date, NONE of these organizations have apologized, admited their "mistake", or retracted their statements.Americans need to be aware of the struggle of Shaykh Kabbani and other moderate muslims in America.
