- Welcome to The Daily Stock Report...brought to you by QualityStocks.Net, performance tracked daily. I'm V-Dog Ramirez and for Wednesday March 7th .... we're bringing you the latest news from around the markets as well as the top movers to look out for today...In Headline News Today... One week ago fears that the market was getting ahead of itself, after running virtually unabated since bottoming in July, caught the bulls off guard, resulting in the biggest one-day point decline since the U.S. markets reopened on September 17, 2001. The Dow slipped into negative territory for the year as all 30 components suffered losses. Market internals were decidedly bullish as advancers outpaced decliners on the NYSE by a 5-to-1 margin while those on the Nasdaq held a 4-to-1 advantage. Further underscoring the change in sentiment were declines of 19% and 14% on the VIX and the VXN.Known as the "investor fear gauges," both indexes spiking lower suggest investors were actively buying call options in anticipation that investors are growing more cognizant of the fact that recent events have simply had little to no bearing on the fundamental picture. All 10 economic sectors posted solid gains and, in stark contrast to the action early yesterday morning, when 144 of 147 S&P industry groups were in the red, only three groups failed to participate in today's broad-based recovery. More notably, the most influential sector of them all -- Financials -- also turning in the best performance lent even more conviction on the part of buyers' optimism about the health of the economy. Our Small Cap Headlines today are brought to you by Financial Media Group, Inc. who through its wholly owned subsidiaries, engages in financial brand-building with a focus on the development of tools, education, and financial social communities for the retail investor and publicly traded companies. The contract was a result of the successful non- destructive testing of three bridges in Pennsylvania which were part of interstate highways in diverse areas of the State. PennDOT estimates they has already saved the State $50,000, and most likely avoided the closure of one of their main bridges.
