- A Hiawatha line train, going north to downtown Minneapolis, crosses the viaduct at the junction of highways 55 and 62. The train had just left Fort Snelling and in a moment it would stop at the V.A. Medical Center. This area was for years an inconvenient surface intersection with a traffic signal and some nasty turns. The present freeway interchange was built at the same time as the light rail line, and the rail viaduct is in the form of an s-curve.
