- Elizabeth Taylor, "My Heart Will Go On," by Richard Ba Time 2008-05-29 18:42
- This clip is representative of Dame Elizabeth Taylor's two great loves (so far)...Mike Todd and Richard Burton...of her charmed life and the message that these great men will remain in her heart for all of eternity, in this world...and the next, and the next. I have tried to make Dame Elizabeth Taylor an icon, a legend and an institution (in my own way) but the more my heart delves deep into her life, the more I see a loving family oriented woman totally void of allowing the public perception of her guide her in any way, and rightly so. Who could possibly live within the means of a magazine story? There is so much more, that will forever be undisclosed...and (once more) rightly so. I cannot toss out romantic story lines or life events with a mere 'matter of fact' spin on them pertaining to her life. She is like we all are. Yes, famous... but so are we (famous)...in our own world to those who love and care for us on a daily basis. I love the strength of this woman and that keeps getting deeper all the time. I guess you would have to walk a mile in her shoes...but Prada on Rodeo is nowhere near holding a sale (under two grand). I love her, so very much. The happiness that she is now finding is what she deserves, so much so that it is bringing tears to my eyes. I have waited a long time for these tears of happiness. Yes,I am a big strong macho guy, and I cry (keep this part a secret). This is the power of Dame Elizabeth Taylor. I am not alone with this reaction. Thank God!By Richard Bassett
