How would you like to adopt a dog that comes with his own dog trainer? That's what you get when you adopt Sparky thanks to Bark Busters! Sparky is a lovable coonhound. We rescued him from a shelter in Georgia where he was about to be put to killed. I started fostering when Judy said he was making her crazy with his barking. I'd never fostered a dog like Sparky before. He has obviously always been kept in an outside kennel. When I brought him home, he got so excited when he saw his reflection in a mirror, he jumped up on the hutch! I actually had to teach him how to go up stairs - I sat a few steps up from him and talked to him until he would join me, then I'd scoot up a couple more.... it took about 3 minutes to get up the entire flight! Coming down was faster but, again, a new experience. Mike Shamp from Bark Busters came to my home and worked with Sparky - you can read about it on our webpage "Problem Dog? Call Bark Busters". As a result of that effort, Sparky has quickly adjusted to life as an indoor dog. He doesn't sneak things off the countertop, jump up on guests or drag me down the road on a leash. He even stands away from the door when guests come a-calling. The Bark Buster Life Time Warranty will be transferred to his new family when he is adopted, so if they ever have an behavior problems with Sparky, Mike will come to their home free of charge and help them over come it! Sparky is so loving! He just can't believe he's not outside. He keeps coming over and giving us puppy kisses. Oh, and I think I know why he was thrown away as a hunting dog - he loves my cat and has no interest in squirrels. Poor guy - not a hunter at all! But most of all, he loves my dog, Ralph. They play and play and play. And when Sparky gets tired, Ralph grabs him by his back leg and gets him going again. It is just too funny to see!
