- Todd Woodruff is an innocent young man of modest intellectual gifts and a dysfunctional upbringing. Unable to find approval from his family and acquaintances, Todd latches on to Garth Brooks as a "father surrogate". When Todd comes into possession of one of the singer's guitars, he insists that Garth comes to retrieve it himself.As Todd and eventually the entire town of East Jesus, Arkansas come to believe that Garth Brooks is indeed coming to visit, the collective greed, envy and hopes of the town come to rest on Todd's shoulders with tragic consequences.Told in a "mockumentary" format, "LOOKING FOR GARTH BROOKS" is a story of what happens when you wish upon a star...and the wish comes true.NOTE: GARTH BROOKS IS NOT INVOLVED IN, NOR DOES HE IN ANY WAY ENDORSE THE MAKING OF THIS FILM.
