  • VIEW POEM HERE...My life is a play called drama.I live stage left of despair. My friend said, "let's go down to Broadway".I said, I'm already there.I got my conflict and turmoil. My song and sorrow too.I got my big city aspirations, mixed with little black boy blues.Got my signature performance,my NY Times review.Had my many magic momentsand my many more missed cues. When I prospered they applauded. When I faulted they all fled. When my lines were all forgotten, from the script of life I read.In the shadows, behind curtainslate at night is when I cried. When the stage was not well lit.Someone said they thought I died. When I thought I'd when a Tonyis when I knew I'd been misled. On the playbill of my life.In bold words DRAMA is what it read.© 2004 Hassan Beyah
