Geared towards youth 8-10 and 11-14 years old, Finding Zoe addresses root causes of violence against women and girls, challenges gender stereotypes, instructs on warning signs of violence, and introduces community services.RePlay: Finding Zoe is a collaboration with The Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children (METRAC) in partnership with the Ontario Government's Women Directorate.Take Action Games worked closely with METRAC in order to bridge their long-standing subject matter expertise and discern the most appropriate and effective story, characters, aesthetics and play mechanics. In turn, METRAC vigorously consulted with numerous partners and sister organizations, including: The White Ribbon Campaign, Sheternet: Making the Links for Abused Women, and The Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres.RePlay: Finding Zoe premiered at the 2007 Games 4 Change Festival. It recently won the Ashoka Changemakers / Robert Wood Johnson Foundation global competition "Why Games Matter: A Prescription for Improving Health and Health Care". It was showcased at the 2007 International Emmy World Television Festival, in a panel entitled "Telling Stories, Changing Minds" specifically addressing the challenges and potentials of new media platforms to motivate social responsibility within the media industry.
